Team: Pittsburgh Maulers
Years Active: 1984
Home: Three Rivers Stadium (Pittsburgh, PA)

The Pittsburgh Maulers played in the original and were owned by Edward DeBartolo Sr. whose son owned hockey's Penguins and football's 49ers at the time. The team only sold out one game, when former Steeler Cliff Stoudt came to town as the QB. The crowd threw snowballs and booed Stoudt throughout the game. Despite drafting Heisman winner Mike Rozier in a draft that later proved to be rigged, and stars such as Glenn Carano, Jerry Holmes, and Sam Clancy, the team only won three games.
