The Kentucky Colonels were one of only two teams to last the entire duration of the ABA with out moving. The team had two hall of fame coaches in Frank Ramsey and Hubie Brown. Following the team's only championship in 1975, the Colonels challenged the NBA champion Golden State Warriors to a game for $1 million. The Warriors declined and after one more season, the ABA- NBA merger marked the end of the Colonels franchise.
